As part of the newly formed CT News Junkie editorial board, I participated on Friday evening in a wide-ranging interview with Gov. Dannel P. Malloy in his Capitol office.
Questions about education occupied the greater portion of the interview, but I asked the governor about his liquor sales reform proposal, the budget and the state’s absurdly high gas tax, which he says has shot up over the years mostly because we don’t have tolls on our roads.
Members of the board have started writing about the encounter with the governor in a special section of the website. Stay tuned for a column by yours truly on Friday. I’ll be focusing on liquor reform, the gas tax and tolls.
