Debates Matter And Regent-gate Taints Malloy

I neglected to post these CTNJ columns when they first went live. The first has to do with the fact that the importance of political debates cannot be emphasized enough. Here in CT and nationally, it’s become clear that if you’re not prepared or are caught napping, there are serious consequences. Hello McMahon and Obama!

The second involves the Regent-gate scandal.

Two senior executives of the newly created Board of Regents of Higher Education resigned last week over a scandal in which 21 education officials were improperly given hundreds of thousands of dollars in raises.

Will the scandal further erode Gov. Malloy’s political standing? Will he dare run for re-election?
